Top 10 Best GF Products at Trader Joe’s

Eating gluten-free products is a dietary need for many individuals – those suffering from Celiac Disease, a wheat allergy, or another digestive issue like gluten sensitivity. To relieve the discomfort caused by these conditions, eliminating gluten from your diet is not only recommended, but essential to your gut health.

Short of completely giving up breads, pasta, and all products that normally contain gluten and wheat, there are gluten-free options for most of your favorite products! While the good-tasting ones are somewhat harder to find…Trader Joe’s has been my go-to for several gluten-free product staples.

The Top 10 Best Gluten-Free Products at Trader Joe's

In addition to all of the naturally gluten-free products at Trader Joe’s, like the fresh produce, eggs, meats, nuts, and rice products, there are a bunch of great gluten-free products that can only be found at Trader Joe’s and are made to be gluten-free.

By the Trader Joe’s website, their products labeled gluten-free are as follows:

What does “Gluten Free” mean?
Per the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) gluten free labeling regulation, a product that displays a “Gluten Free” claim on the label has been validated to contain less than 20 parts per million (ppm) of gluten. If you see “Gluten Free” on a Trader Joe’s product, this means that the product has been validated to contain less than 20 ppm of gluten.

This threshold of containing less than 20 ppm of gluten is regulated and considered to be safe for most individuals with celiac disease or gluten intolerance.

Best GF Breakfast Products:

#1. Trader Joe's Gluten Free Organic Rolled Oats with Ancient Grains & Seeds - $4.99 per bag (24oz)

This oatmeal is one of my favorite breakfasts! The blend of seeds and oats is amazing – it just adds some extra goodness to your morning! It’s delicious and super filling when you need a bigger breakfast.

For regular oatmeal, just add 1/2 Cup of Oats to a bowl and cover with 3/4 Cup of Water, then microwave for 2 minutes. Stir, then I usually add in 2-3 strawberries, half a banana, 1 tablespoon of peanut butter, and sometimes 1 tablespoon of Nutella! Play around with cinnamon and apple, or whatever you prefer.

These are my favorite Oatmeal Bowls! I love them for how shallow and wide they are for all my added ingredients.

I’ve made overnight oats with this too, and it comes out great. Just use 1/2 Cup Oats, 3/4 Cup Almond Milk, 1 Tablespoon of Peanut Butter, 1 Tablespoon Mini Chocolate Chips, and some sliced strawberries! Set in the fridge overnight (in a glass jar with a lid like these) and you’re all set for the morning!

#2. Trader Joe's Almost Everything GF Bagels - $4.99 per bag

We all know it’s hard to find good GF bread readily available in stores. Well, Trader Joe’s has figured it out. These bagels taste great when toasted! It’s almost like enjoying a “real” bagel again – they are a decent size, come in “Everything”, and toast so nicely, giving butter the chance to soak in a bit.

These Gluten Free Bagels freeze nicely too – and they offer 5 grams of protein per bagel!

Now, these are a special treat! It can be so hard to find moist, chocolatey goodness that’s gluten-free. These are the best GF muffins I’ve found! These are guilty pleasures, but so worth the guilt once in a while!

Just enjoy 1 of these with a side of raspberries and an Aspire Healthy Energy Drink, and your day will start off great. Even non-GF eaters love these!

This gluten-free pasta is one of those staples that you have to keep in the house for when you’re craving some pasta! This brown rice & quinoa pasta is delicious – no weird textures, it’s not crumbly or mushy, just a really good gf pasta. It even works well with gf sauce or on its own – just add some chicken and broccoli and you’ve got a delicious & quick home-cooked gf meal.

These are another great go-to for a quick lunch or side, especially for picky eaters! When you need something tasty and cheesy, this is it! And with 11 grams of protein per serving, it leaves you full and happy after you eat.

It’s just hard to eat only one serving…so the trick is to use it as a side and enjoy it with someone else – otherwise I guarantee you’ll eat the whole box in one sitting, it’s that good!

Best GF Snacks:

#7. Trader Joe's Scandinavian Swimmers - $3.79 per bag (14oz)

The Scandinavian Swimmers are luckily gluten-free because they are one of my favorite summer snacks to share with friends! They are chewy without being sticky, tasty without being overly sweet, and the bag comes with a surprisingly large amount of snacks. Not only are they in cute, fun summer shapes, (perfect for beach snacking), but they also come in SUPER SOUR!

#8. Trader Joe's Dark Chocolate Orange Sticks - $3.99 per bag (10oz)

Now, these are a new favorite of mine that I have recently discovered. While they aren’t actual oranges dipped in chocolate, the orange-flavored center in these treats hits the spot. The dark chocolate is rich and smooth, and the center is flavorful.

I like to keep these in the refrigerator – they taste best cold in my opinion and I can just grab a few when I’m in the fridge taking something out for dinner. Although the serving says 5 sticks, the sticks are a decent size, and 3 is plenty for a quick treat while getting dinner going without spoiling your appetite!

#9. Trader Joe's Tortilla Rounds + Cowboy Caviar

Another of my favorite Trader Joe’s GF Snack Options is their tortilla chips & cowboy caviar. YUM! The chips are always crispy and lightly salted, and a great value at $3.99 for a 1lb bag.

The cowboy caviar ($3.49 for 13oz) is bursting with flavor; full of black beans, corn, onion, and peppers in a blend of adobo sauce and lime juice. It’s got some heat to it, but not overpowering – just a great mix of flavors. A nice change from regular chips and salsa!

I love these bowls for easy snacking on chips & dips – plus portion control!

#10. Trader Joe's Joe-Joe's GF Chocolate Cookies - $4.49 per box (12.5oz)

When you’re looking for a nice gluten-free cookie similar to Oreos, these are the go-to. They taste great, and Trader Joe’s always has them! (GF Oreos can be harder to find.)

These are a great find for kids, especially – who feel left out when they can’t enjoy the same sweet treats as their friends. These taste good enough that all the kids will enjoy them, and no one feels left out!

Trader Joe's Gluten Free Products - Honorable Mentions:

#1. Trader Joe's Gluten Free All Purpose Flour

Gluten-free flour is a necessity in every GF house for baking purposes! Trader Joe’s always comes through with gluten-free products. This flour works great as a substitute for regular flour, replacing flour in any recipe 1:1. It even has a recipe for Chocolate Crinkle Cookies right on the bag!

My favorite things to make with gluten-free flour are cookies, banana bread, and cupcakes! Now we can have all the fun treats, just gluten-free. I like to bring a batch of something homemade (labeled GF) to parties so everyone can enjoy!

#2. Trader Joe's Thai Lime & Chili Almonds

The second honorable mention is these amazing Thai Lime & Chili Almonds. They are so tasty, and a bit spicy! You just need a few of these, and your mouth is jumping with flavor. Portion out 1/4 Cup for a quick snack, or put out at parties with cheese, plain nuts, and GF pretzels!

These aren’t labeled “Gluten Free”, but don’t have any gluten ingredients in the list, and haven’t bothered me when I eat them. This is my favorite serving dish for small things like nuts and small snacks – I love that it has lids!

Gluten Free At Trader Joe's

Well, that’s it! These are my favorite gluten-free finds at Trader Joe’s that I just have to pick up when I’m there or planning a get-together. Of course, fresh fruits and veggies, their firm tofu, and some beautiful flowers are also always on my list for Trader Joe’s! They have such a great selection of flowers and GF foods, I’m a huge fan.

Trader Joe’s also has a lot of fun goodies during the holiday season that only come out once a year, too! They have cat and dog advent calendars that I just have to get every year, plus great treats for all kinds of themed charcuterie boards!
